Fugli's Fantasy Forge3D anaglyphs are one of my copious hobbies. I have done some of my own experimenting with various methods of anaglyph creation, including photographic color track merging, 3D rendering software and line drawing separations both by hand and with a computer. These are some of the results of some of my earlier experiments and some posted later work as well.

Anaglyph Archives:

This is a series of miniature shots that I experimented with some time back. I used a small digital camera and took two still shots of each figurine. I then digitally added the two pictures together. The images suffer slightly from the actual size of the objects and the low resolution of the camera.

This image, titled "Fox and Fairy", was the first full drawn image that I tried to digitally separate into a 3D anaglyph. I decided that I liked it, and that the basic techniques that I was using were working. I also have the 2D version online.

This is an anime image of DeVia Dirkdancer that I doodled on typing paper when I was a bit bored at Conestoga a few years back on a Sunday morning, waiting for the next gaming slot. I later scanned it and separated it. It's sot of an exercise in shallow perspective.

KoDT 3DLooking for another subject to tackle in 3D, I went to the library and looked up some old horror movie picture references. This initially started out as a tribute to the old 3D movie genre, but it quickly turned into my own rendition of a cover for Knights of the Dinner Table. I then put together an entire site based on the idea of 3D KoDT.

KoDT 3D #2I've also experimented with color anaglyphs. It's more difficult to format them for internet viewing since gifs tend to have limited color resolution, pngs tend to get a bit large, and jpgs tend to lose some resolution with their compression scheme. Here is a gif rendition of another cover that I put together. This time it's in color.

This is some fan oriented artwork that I put together using Poser instead of a camera. The first three were for The Naked Fairy Wing of the Elf Life web comic, but they never seemed to get posted there. The fourth image was done for the short lived Gamer Hotties web comic. They posted it in their fan art section but only as a 2D image, never the anaglyph. These images are very clear in the format in which I originally created them (pict), but they suffer slightly from the losy compression of jpg files, even with compression resolution at max.

This is an image that I did specifically for this gallery. It's sort of the tribute to late night horror movies that the KoDT cover above was supposed to be prior to my decision to make it a fan piece. I had thought once to make a web comic in this genre.

Here's another piece of fan art. this time for the PVP comic. I e-mailed it to Scott Kurtz once upon a time, that was the last of that. I think I may have posted it in his forum too, now that I think back.

KAF in 3DI have tried some 3D photography with a 3D 35mm camera. Some of the pictures are better placed than others, as you will see.
